Dr. Elena Galvez Corral

Dr. Elena was born in Madrid (Spain) and grew up surrounded by animals. From birds, rabbits, dogs and cats to turtles.  She graduated from the Completense University of Madrid in Veterinary Medicine in 2013.  She joined our team in April 2019 after working in other practices in the lower mainland.  Her interests in veterinary medicine are wide, however she is particularly interested in ophthalmology and internal medicine.  As soon as she arrived to the West Coast, she fell in love with the city, the mountains, the sea…She enjoys hiking in summer and (really!) loves skiing in winter. Her pet family is made up of a very friendly dog named “Juno”.  She is very passionate about providing Veterinary care to the community and looks forward to meeting you and your pets!

Dr.  Jennifer Ng

Dr. Jennifer was born and raised in Vancouver where she developed quite the reputation for collecting abandoned and injured animals since she was a child despite having already surrounded herself with a variety of pets. This love of animals continued to grow with time through volunteer work, until she decided to study and travel abroad to New Zealand where she completed her veterinary degree.  It was an amazing experience, but the call of home proved too strong and she returned to Canada to practice. She has particular interests in dermatology, ultrasonography  and internal medicine but would love to explore more facets of veterinary medicine. During her free time, she loves to go kayaking and hiking or otherwise can be seen relaxing outdoors with her American Eskimo X, Pika.

Veronica

Born  & raised in Chile, she went to Veterinary School for 1 year. She moved to Canada to continue her professional dreams, even though she didn’t know any English.  Veronica graduated in 1980 as Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT).  In her 38 years, she dedicated to this profession, advancing her knowledge and applying high standards of care.  Veronica has taught anesthesia / analgesia to Vets in Chile.  She enjoys client education and  structuring new hospitals.   Veronica likes to travel & enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, snowshoeing, biking and photography.

Carrie

Carrie is a veterinary assistant and also the location manager. She is originally from Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin and understands Cantonese as well.  Carrie had interests in all kinds of animals as growing up.  She started volunteering for Anderson Animal Hospital more than 20 years ago and was hired after she finished training. Carrie received her BSc in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. She adopted two cats which were abandoned at the back door of the hospital on a cold day!

Tamara

Born and raised in Vancouver, Tamara has always had a love for animals even from a young age. She was always surrounded by different types but iwasn’t able to get a dog of her own until she turned 10yrs old. After many years of working in retail industry she followed her dreams and completed the VOA program at Granville Business College in 2011. She enjoys taking her jack russell Nix for hikes and runs, riding her bike, listening to music, cooking and watching movies

Stephanie

Stephanie grew up on the Vancouver Island, where she has lived most of her life with her family and many furry friends. She volunteered at the local SPCA as well as other volunteer work during city events. Soon she decided to pursue an education in the veterinary field. In June of 2018, she graduated from the Veterinary Hospital Assistant program at the Center for Arts and Technology in Kelowna and moved to Vancouver. Stephanie has a quirky tuxedo cat named Domino.   She likes watching movies, painting, & playing music.

Vancouver vet whose opinion and expertise I trust

Dr. Anderson has treated my rabbit for a number of dental problems, including a mouth infection and needing his teeth trimmed. I take him to Dr. Anderson because he is a knowledgeable source of information, has a lot of expertise and takes time to clearly explain what needs to be done to help my rabbit. I feel assured that I am taking my pet to a vet whose opinion and expertise I can trust.

At Anderson Animal Hospital, we will continue to provide services to the best of our abilities during these tough times. While local authorities may order non-essential businesses to close, the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association considers veterinary services to be essential and we remain available for essential care. We are adapting plans and protocols reflecting recommendations from public health and veterinary authorities to ensure our hospital teams can continue to provide care for your pet.

Our operating hours are presently unchanged, however we may be required to alter our hours on short notice as the situation progresses. We will communicate changes to our hours by email and social media. During operating hours, our veterinarian and staffing team may be limited and our hospital may need to triage patients based on medical needs. At this time, we will also be rescheduling all non-urgent, elective procedures and examinations (ex. boarding, grooming, elective surgeries, dental procedures).

To minimize exposure, we are operating a closed-door hospital. We ask you to stay outside or in your vehicle and please call us at 604-263-6767 when you arrive and adhere to the following steps:

  • We will take a medical history on the call, and a staff member will bring your pet into the clinic for an exam with a veterinarian

  • After the exam, we will call you with the recommended treatment plan, and then bring your pet back to your vehicle

  • If you are picking up food or medication, please wait outside and we will bring it to you

  • Drop-off appointments will also be provided as alternatives to in-person visits.

  • Please be aware that there is a delay in deliveries from our supplier, there is no supply shortage but our deliveries may take a few extra days to arrive

  • Alternatively, food & medications can be purchased & delivered, directly to your home at:https://www.myvetstore.ca/andersonvet We are temporarily suspending food pick ups at our Hospital and you need to call us first for arrangement.

Please do not come to the hospital if:

  • You have traveled outside of Canada within the past 2 weeks or have close contact with such people

  • You are feeling any symptoms such as a cough, fever, or difficulty breathing

  • If you have been or are in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

Give us a call and we will discuss alternative arrangements to ensure that your pet receives the care it needs

We appreciate your patience during this time, as there may be higher call volumes and longer wait times as we screen appointment bookings. As the COVID-19 situation rapidly evolves, we will continue to keep you up to date so that you can make the best decisions for your pet’s health care.

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                                     Your Anderson Animal Hospital Team
